In the month of February I am taking a lettering class from Joanne Sharp. It's really fun. This is my work from one of the assignments called Wavy Lines.
Oh I love this Nancy - I have been playing in my graph book - and fairly happy with what's happening. I can see some happy results in my BoD. I will keep it up and at some point be ready to post some lettering stuff. xoDi
I totally understand, Di. I have not been pleased with other things I have done. I'm discovering that the composition, the number of words, the colors, the thickness of lines, and the illustrations all play a part of a letter piece and can "make it or break it" no matter how well I do the letters. It's a lot to plan. I look forward to seeing something of yours posted.
OMGosh! Your drawing ability is awesome! I'm new at that and it's a constant struggle. I'm not in the word class (yet LOL) but am inspired by what you have done - amazing - gorgeous. So excited by what you have been willing to share - thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind comments, Linda! I draw a LOT. I especially like to draw people. Often I attend life drawing groups when they are available in my area. The more I draw, the more I learn. So keep drawing. Draw everything - the toaster, your coffee cup, the chair, the person across the table from you in a meeting - everything. It does get easier. A great and motivating book is by Danny Gregory called Everyday Matters. Check it out.
I love this, the words are beautifully written, I love that squeezed in I in LIFE. You've captured the sunflowers so well, the whole page is lush, it would make a gorgeous card or print.
This is fantastic!! Nothing I have done for letter love looks like this but I am still on the first few lessons. Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deanna! My other things have not been as successful but this one I do like.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Pippa! I might try it as a card. That's a great idea. :)
